The "natural" colour is the colour of the bamboo after is is harvested and processed to form a board.

To get the "carbonized" colour the bamboo strips are heat pressure treated and as the moisture penetrates the fibres they gradually darken. The darkness of the board is controlled by the length of time the strips are left in the tank. Bamboo is a natural product so there may be some colour variation usually within the range of plus or minus 10%.

Bamboo can be harvested and replenished with virtually no impact to the environment and bamboo can be grown in soil damaged by overgrazing and poor agricultural techniques. Unlike most trees, improper harvesting does not kill the bamboo plant and that allows for the topsoil to stay in place. Additionally, because of its dense litter on the forest floor, it actually feeds the topsoil over time. This plant's rapid growth produces a yield 25 times higher than that of timber and, with selective annual harvesting, has the capability of complete regeneration without a need to replant. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on Earth, growing 1/3 faster than the fastest growing tree. As bamboos have a short life cycle, bamboo is considered a highly renewable and sustainable product that saves our ever dwindling hardwood forest. The application of this product to flooring, not only protects the environment, but also produces flooring that rivals the tensile strength of steel.

Bamboo is natural, elegant and beautiful and more durable and stable than red oak but as hard as maple. Our products are laminated like plywood and carbonated, so it doesn't expand and contract with changes in temperature and humidity.
Gaps, cupping and warping are also less likely to form, making it's stability one of the advantages over other solid wood. It is available in it's natural light color, or darker carbonated color, both coated with 6 layers of UV cured water based polyurethane (matt or semi-gloss), finished with an
Aluminum Oxide coating for superior durability and scratch resistance. Both orientations offer the same strength characteristics.
